MANITOBA COPTIC EGYPTIAN FESTIVAL 2016
In Mathew 2:13, St. Joseph was told by an angel in a dream:
“Arise, take the young Child and His Mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him.”
St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church in Winnipeg, Manitoba organized the First Coptic Egyptian Festival in June, 2006 to celebrate the Holy Family’s flight to Egypt and to provide an entertaining awareness venue to present and promote the Coptic Egyptian Heritage to Canadians.
The Festival started by small committee of talented and inspired members of the Coptic congregation in Winnipeg. Each year has a different spiritual theme that is presented within different interactive and entertaining activities. The Festival takes place over two days in June of every year, as it is the month of when the Holy Family’s flight to Egypt where they lived there for three years.
We invite you to come with your family and friends to enjoy the activities and products of different spiritual, heritage and food stations of the festival.
